About Beth

I’m an aspiring novelist, former journalist, book  reviewer, film/tv critic, Orton-Gillingham trained tutor for dyslexic children, “the” family genealogist, a devoted mom to four (ages 13 to 21), and an “always looking for new ideas” organizational expert. Originally from Chicago, I currently live in the “Deep South” with my Yankee husband, two teenage sons, a large Lab-Bloodhound named Sam, and a tiny Chihuahua named Beary. My two daughters are pursuing degrees at Auburn University – finally giving me a good reason to be an Auburn fan! With a Master’s degree in Critical Studies of Film/TV from UCLA, a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and several years of teaching dyslexic children how to read, I’m  “perfectly educated” to talk about film, TV, communicating, reading, writing, and relationships too.
